Land Surveying Laboratory
Survey Instruments needed by our students for land measurements to be made with terrestrial and space techniques are provided from this laboratory. In our laboratory, there are simple measuring instruments as well as mechanical/electronic devices such as level, total station and GNSS receiver. It is necessary to communicate with the lecturer in order to provide the measuring equipment needed for the applications within the course (usually in groups of four). For field applications outside the scope of the course, communication with the department chair is required.
Computer Laboratory
In this laboratory, geographical data collected by various measurement methods are processed and transformed into geographical information. This geographical information is used to produce maps of various types (thematic, topographic, etc.). In most cases, these maps are combined (or superimposed) in layers, resulting in new thematic maps containing new information. There are 20 computers in our laboratory where many software, especially AutoCAD, NetCAD, ArcGIS, QGIS, can be used by our students. Communication with the lecturer is required for computer applications within the scope of the course (a computer is planned for each student). For laboratory use outside the scope of the course, communication with the department chair is required.
Remote Sensing Laboratory
This laboratory is used for remote sensing-based research/projects carried out by our department. In addition to the dense point cloud, digital elevation model (DEM), orthomosaic/orthoimage production studies by processing Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) and satellite images, information production studies for various image indices supported by artificial intelligence and geographic information systems-based researches are carried out in this laboratory. For laboratory facilities, communication with the department chair is required.
